Google : 87% of all UK Searches

In May 2008, Google performed 87% of all UK searches making it the most popular search engine by far.

The Internet research firm Hitwise, who analyse and report on internet usage, saw Google's popularity leap by 12% on the same period last year.

Despite Google's dominance in the UK, the situation in the US is quite different where 68% of searches are performed using Google.

Yahoo! is the runner up in the UK and US where it performed 8% and 20% of searches respectively.
