How to set up Qlue Panel

This is a step by step guide, designed to help you install the Qlue Panel to your Joomla Website. Upon completing this Tutorial you will be able to Install, Setup and Modify the Extension to work just the way you want.

Install!

Before we can do anything else, you will need to install this Extension to your Joomla website. If you have not done this before, Click Here and follow the instructions on how to install a Joomla Extension to your website. Once the Extension has been installed, you may continue with the next part of the Tutorial.

Setup!

Now that we have the Extension installed, we can begin using it. Follow the instruction below carefully, to add the Qlue Panel module to your website. This tutorial will go through setting up the parameters for Qlue Panel.

For this tutorial we will be using the Pro! version of Qlue Panel. If you are using the Free! version of Qlue Panel then you can still follow this tutorial but you will have to miss out the sections that don't relate to your version. Follow the instructions below to get going. If you need inspiration then check out Joomla Zone above, that's the Qlue Panel module!

- Setup the Module the same way you would any other module. Be sure to turn the Module Title 'OFF'.

- Select the category of articles that you wish to display in the Panel

- Now select the Article Ordering. This is a good way to organise many articles that you wish to display, especially as there is a limit of 5 articles in the panel.

- Set the number of articles to the number you wish to display. Default will be 5 but as has already been mentioned, Joomla Zone above only uses 4 of the 5 spaces.

- Set whether or not you wish to display the Panel at the top of the page, or at the left hand side.

- Alter the Panel's label so that you can give it a name that has some relation to the contents that you are displaying in your Panel. Our example above, the label is set to 'Joomla Zone'.

- Lastly you can alter the speed in which the Panel displays on the screen. The bigger the number, the slower the animation and the smaller the number, the faster the animation. If you set the duration to 0, the Panel will just show and hide with no animation at all.

Styling

If you wish to change the style of your Panel you can do so by setting a Module Class suffix. You can alter everything about the styling of the Module, from the width of the module to the background color to even the font color of the Panel's label.

Beware that you need to have sufficient knowledge of HTML and CSS to be able to alter the styling of this module. If you are unsure about doing these styling changes then please do not attempt to change the style. Any changes you make could cause the module to not work properly.

How do I display the Panel to the left of the screen?

If you have purchased the Pro! version of Qlue Panel then this can be done very easily.

Go to the back end of the module and locate the option, 'Position'. Select 'Left' from the drop down and either 'Apply' or 'Save' the changes. Refresh your page and Qlue Panel should now be displaying to the Left of your screen.
